Cancellation Policy

Good therapy has the greatest benefit when you attend our scheduled sessions. There are many different styles of therapy that may be effective and it is important that you find the right fit for you. As described in my website, I offer depth work which is most effective with regular sessions. Therefore, as I commit to providing the best possible therapy I can during our time together, I also require a commitment from clients to attend their regular scheduled therapy appointment.

Late cancellations are sessions with less than 48 hrs notice

As a private practitioner, I have a limited number of sessions available for clients due to my appointment schedule. So, if a client cancels within 48 hrs or misses an appointment, I simply cannot fill any missed appointments temporarily or with new clients as that current client was booked for one of appointment times available. As a private therapy practice this means income loss for me, as well as down time when I could be seeing others who are on the waiting list.

So, if a session change needs to occur, I politely request that you give me as much advance notice as possible, ideally a week when cancelling a session, and if possible, we can reschedule if there is a time available. Of course, emergencies do happen.  There are clients who rarely cancel and when they do due to genuine illness or emergency, I will, of course (at discretion) waive this fee.

The more important thing to remember around frequent cancellations is that when you cancel a therapy session, you are reducing the likelihood that your therapy will be effective.  Good effective therapy requires consistency. When someone has frequent cancellations, we lose momentum, connection and often find ourselves repeating skills and interventions without progressing beyond these.

And so, if you are unable to provide at least 48 hrs notice Andelain Therapy’s cancellation policy will be 80% of the full session fee except, of course, if there is a crisis, or other exceptional circumstances.
